The fourth film in the Expendables film series, Expend4bles (sometimes referred to as The Expendables 4) is an American action movie released in 2023. It comes after The Expendables 3 (2014). In addition to Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture reprising their roles from earlier movies, the ensemble cast also includes Andy García, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Levy Tran. Scott Waugh is the director, and Kurt Wimmer, Tad Daggerhart, and Max Adams wrote the script, which was based on a narrative by Spenser Cohen, Wimmer, and Daggerhart.
Lionsgate distributed The Expendables 4 in the US one week after its September 15, 2023, release in China. Critics mainly gave the movie bad reviews, criticizing its story, action scenes, Stallone’s little screen time, Waugh’s directing, lack of most of the original cast, and special effects. Against a $100 million budget, it has brought only $51 million worldwide.
